Socialist Republic of Viet Nam: Submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review: Fifth session of the UPR Working Group of the Human Rights Council, May 2009
In this submission, Amnesty International provides information as stipulated in the General Guidelines for the Preparation of Information under the Universal Periodic Review. Amnesty International raises concern over the protection of human rights in national legislation and the death penalty and also highlights concerns in relation to restrictions on the rights to freedom of expression and assembly and persecution of religious and ethnic groupings.
