Philippines: Human rights worker threatened
AI is concerned for the safety of Avelino F Javier, Regional Director for Mindanao of the Task Force Detainees of the Philippines, a church-based NGO. He received written death threats in December 1993 and January 1994, shortly after he had spoken publicly about human rights under the government of President Ramos.
