South Korea: Detention of Pomminnyon Members
Cho Song-woo, Lee Hae-hak, Lee Chang-bok and Kim Hi-taek are all serving prison sentences of between 18 months and two years on charges of making illegal contact with North Koreans and attempting to establish an anti- state organization (Pomminnyon). Cho Song-woo, Lee Chang-bok and Lee Hae- hak have served previous terms of imprisonment and two of them, Cho Song- woo and Lee Chang-bok have been adopted as prisoners of conscience by Amnesty International on previous occasions.
