India: Clouds of Injustice: Bhopal disaster 20 years on
This report notes the steps taken by governments in India to assist the victims of the Bhopal tragedy and makes recommendation about actions to be taken by the various governments and companies involved. Twenty years after toxic gases leaked from a pesticide plant owned by Union Carbide Corporation, the survivors still await just compensation, adequate medical assistance and treatment, and comprehensive economic and social rehabilitation. The plant site has still not been cleaned up and no one has been held to account for the leak and its consequences.
