USA: Further information: Florida governor signs death penalty bill
On 14 June 2013, the Governor of Florida signed House Bill 7083, also known as the “Timely Justice Act of 2013”, into law. The bill is aimed at furthering the “intent of the legislature to reduce delays in capital cases” and to ensure “all appeals and post-conviction actions in capital cases are resolved as soon as possible” after the death sentence is imposed.
