Mexico: Shielding the guilty: Military justice in Mexico
In Mexico, investigating and trying military personnel accused of human rights violations is carried out under the jurisdiction of the military justice system. As the four cases outlined in this document demonstrate, the military justice system has failed to deliver justice to the victims or to hold the guilty to account. The result has been widespread impunity for human rights violations by the military.
