Sudan: Human rights situation continues to deteriorate: Amnesty International written statement to the 20th session of the UN Human Rights Council
The human rights situation in Sudan continues to deteriorate as a result of ongoing conflict in Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile states, and through the intensified repression of media and activists throughout Sudan. Amnesty International believes that the gravity of the situation in Sudan demands more than a once-a-year discussion and is submitting this statement in an effort to contribute to the Council giving more sustained attention to Sudan.
