All 15 people named above are to be tried on 14 December 1993; all are charged with two counts of armed robbery, and with possession of firearms and ammunition without certificates. Ephan Muchiri Muhoro has suffered a ruptured bladder and fractured leg, reportedly from torture. Stefan Kariuki Muigai has also been treated for injuries reportedly due to police torture. AI is calling for an inquiry into the fatal shooting by police of Jackson Mutonye Ndegwa at the beginning of November 1993.
