Iranian filmmaker Ja’far Panahi is being denied the chance to appear at the Cannes Film Festival after being detained by the Iranian authorities.
Tibetan film-maker Dhondup Wangchen is serving a six year sentence in China for a documentary he made prior to the Beijing Olympics in 2008 in Qinghai province, western China.
In the past decade, more than 200 Filipinos have reportedly been victims of enforced disappearance. In each case, the victims are robbed of their liberty – and usually their life as well.
