China: Open letter on forcibly deported Uighur asylum-seekers

In this open letter to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amnesty International expresses its concern about the deportation of 20 ethnic Uighur asylum-seekers who were forcibly deported to the People’s Republic of China by the Cambodian authorities on 19 December 2009. The organization requests information about the safety of the members of this group. The organization also calls on the Chinese government to ensure that these 20 people are not tortured or otherwise ill-treated and to provide the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR with immediate access to the 20 individuals.
