In this document Amnesty International, Democracy Coalition Project, Human Rights Watch, the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran, the International Federation for Human Rights and the Iranian League for the Defence of Human Rights, call on the United Nations General Assembly to request both the UN Secretary-General and the UN special procedures mandates to report periodically to the Human Rights Council on the human rights situation in Iran. The organizations also call on the UNGA to appoint a special envoy of the Secretary General with a mandate to investigate and report on the human rights situation in Iran.
