In this submission, Amnesty International provides information as stipulated in the General Guidelines for the Preparation of Information under the Universal Periodic Review. Amnesty International calls for the introduction of a law criminalising domestic violence. The organization highlights its concerns about human rights violations in the context of Albania’s failure to fully implement a civil law on the protection of women from domestic violence; and the failure to guarantee the rights of orphans, including to adequate housing.
