In this submission Amnesty International comments on the implementation of recommendations that Sri Lanka supported during its previous UPR, concerning torture, enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and prevailing impunity and lack of accountability. Amnesty International also notes that the government has not yet repealed the anti-terrorism legislation nor has it taken any measures to strengthen the capacity of the National Human Rights Commission. The organization is also concerned about cases of enforced disappearance, torture and ill-treatment and extrajudicial execution as well as the ongoing use of arbitrary detention.
