Pakistan: Working to stop human rights violations in the “war on terror”

The Government of Pakistan has refused to acknowledge that human rights violations have occurred in the context of the “war on terror” as documented in Amnesty International’s report released in September 2006. In the two months since its release further human rights violations in the context of the “war on terror” have come to Amnesty International’s notice. This report describes the developing political situation in Pakistan, the new cases and issues reported to Amnesty International, government responses to Amnesty International’s report and the joint workshop with the HRCP.
