This document gives a summary of the situation in the Chittagong Hill Tracts since the 1960s where a culture of violence has allowed human rights violations to be committed, largely with impunity. Amnesty International welcomes the recent peace accords and, in this document, makes recommendations to the government on what needs to be addressed to ensure a successful outcome.
