In this submission, Amnesty International provides information under sections C and D (as stipulated in the General Guidelines for the Preparation of Information under the Universal Periodic Review). The Organization describes concerns related to violence against women, barriers to the realisation of the right to health of people living with HIV and AIDS, use of torture and excessive force by police and prison authorities, and the protection of refugees and asylum-seekers and suspected illegal immigrants against refoulement.
