The United Nations General Assembly as the main UN deliberative body with universal membership must continue to debate and make recommendations on the issue of the death penalty and call for prompt and full implementation of the resolution in line with the world-wide trend towards abolition. Amnesty International urges all Member States to engage constructively in a debate on the report of the UN Secretary-General on the implementation of Resolution 62/149.
