Stockholm Plan of Action Against Torture

The International Conference on Torture was held in Stockholm from 4 to 6 October 1996. It was organized by Amnesty International's Swedish Section, and brought together AI section representatives, other human rights defenders and experts from around the world. This document comprises a news release describing the results of the conference, and the text of the Plan of Action adopted by the Conference. This Plan of Action describes action for the abolition of torture that can be taken at national and international level by non-governmental organizations.
