Morocco/Western Sahara: Investigate Allegations of Torture and Grant Detainees a Fair Trial

Eighteen students of the Cadi Ayyad Marrakesh University were arrested on 14 and 15 May 2008. Amnesty International calls on the Moroccan authorities to ensure that the 18 members of the National Union of Moroccan Students are granted fair trials in accordance with international standards and that they do not face the death penalty. The organization also urges the Moroccan authorities to investigate allegations of torture and the use of excessive force by law enforcement officers.
