Medical letter writing action: Libya: Prisoners needing medical care

AI is concerned about more than 550 political prisoners currently held in prisons or detention camps in Libya. Most are reported to be kept in harsh conditions, in crowded cells and without access to adequate medical care. Many of them were reportedly tortured after being arrested; some are prisoners of conscience, others are held without trial or have been convicted after allegedly unfair trials. Prisoners believed to be in poor health and without adequate medical care include: Nouri ‘Ammoush, Muhammad ‘Ali al-Huwaydi, al-Za’ir Said al-A’awaj, al-Sadiq Ahmad Zarti, ‘Imad al- Hasaydi, and Muhammad al-Majrab.
