Iraq: No impunity for enforced disappearances: Iraq’s obligations pursuant to the enforced disappearance convention

Amnesty International, the International Commission on Missing Persons and TRIAL welcome recent steps taken by the government of Iraq to begin the process of implementing the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance (the Convention). The organizations hope the Checklist presented by Amnesty International will provide the government with useful guidance on how to implement, in law and practice, Iraq’s obligations under the Convention and related international law and standards.
